Open enrollment runs from November 1, 2025 to January 15, 2026
It is the only time of year when you can enroll in a Get Covered Illinois health plan or renew or change your current plan without a qualifying life event.
The deadlines to enroll are:
December 15 for coverage that starts January 1
January 15 for coverage that starts February 1
Who should enroll?
Residents of Illinois who qualify and who do not have health insurance coverage
People with a Get Covered Illinois health plan who want to renew or change their existing plan
Special Enrollment Period
If you have a qualifying life event, you may be able to get health coverage during a Special Enrollment Period.
