Medicaid information
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) administers Medicaid, which is a federal-state program that provides health insurance coverage to eligible children, adults, seniors and people with disabilities. In Illinois, Medicaid is sometimes referred to as the “medical card.” Within Medicaid, there are different coverage groups for different populations. For example, Medicaid for children is called "All Kids."
