2027 plan changes
Plans change from year to year. To get the plan that best fits your needs and budget, shop and compare during the annual enrollment period that runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027.
Cigna and Molina plans will no longer be available
Beginning January 1, 2027, Cigna and Molina plans will no longer be available on the Get Covered Illinois marketplace.
Customers with Cigna and Molina coverage in 2026 will have uninterrupted coverage through December 31, 2026. Please continue paying your premium as usual to ensure you stay covered.
You must choose a new plan for 2027 during the 2027 open enrollment period. Get Covered Illinois will send you a notice in the fall prior to the start of the 2027 open enrollment period that will include information on how to choose and enroll in a new plan. You will also receive information directly from your insurer. Be sure your contact information is up to date and read everything you receive from Get Covered Illinois and your insurer.
Ambetter and MercyCare are expanding their offerings
Beginning January 1, 2027, Ambetter and MercyCare will expand their offerings to 21 additional counties, creating more options for residents.
Ambetter will now offer plans in Adams, Alexander, Clay, Edwards, Effingham, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Marion, Perry, Pike, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Wayne and White counties.
MercyCare will offer plans in Stephenson county.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is discontinuing the MyBluePlus Bronze plan
Blue Cross Blue Shield has discontinued their MyBlue Plus Bronze health insurance plan. Customers enrolled in a MyBlue Plus Bronze plan for 2026 will be crosswalked to a Silver plan for plan year 2027. The change affects customers in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, St. Clair and Will counties.
Customers with a MyBlue Plus Bronze plan in 2026 will have uninterrupted coverage through December 31, 2026. Please continue paying your premium as usual to ensure you stay covered.
